WHY IS WATER ALMOST ALWAYS THE FIRST INGREDIENT?

Have you ever wondered why water is usually the first ingredient in your skin care, or body care, product. If water is not the first ingredient, it is almost always in the top 3. When most skin care lines have their products manufactured for them, these products are made in huge batches. When these big batch products are made, they are typically made with inexpensive man made ingredients. To these base creams, companies add lovely things like plant infusions, nutrients, and essential oils, but this doesn’t change the core of the product. To make a cream, you need 3 main parts. The first part is water, the second part is oil, and the third part is wax. The water, the wax, and the oils are heated separately and then blended together. Wax is used as an emulsifier - without it, the water and oil will separate. Most often the oils and waxes that are used are man made petroleum products. These man made chemicals are known endorcrine disrupters, and they tend to build up in our body tissues.

Everything leaves a trace of its existence, and the traces of all beings, all objects, all life, are recorded in the water.

As we discussed in the previous blog, water has a crystalline structure that can hold memory. When water comes from clean sources, when it runs clean and is living, its crystalline structure is beautiful and healthy.  Michael Standther speaks eloquently regarding the power of water, “because water has such great powers of absorption, it is a treasure trove of innumerable secrets. The whole of the history of mankind is recorded in the lakes, rivers, and oceans of the world. Everything leaves a trace of its existence, and the traces of all beings, all objects, all life, are recorded in the water. It is a supremely magical medium, which permeates and impregnates the universe. If you listen to a drop of water it will speak to you.” And the Kogi tribes say that water is a living, thinking being. They see streams as a baby, rivers as adults, and the ocean as the great all powerful One.

If you wonder why water is the most abundant ingredient in your product, the simple answer is, its cheap!

I feel it is safe to say that the water used in most products in not clean, living water. I would bet that most of the water used is from the tap, or distilled tap water. If you wonder why water is the most abundant ingredient in your product, the simple answer is, its cheap! Not many companies would take the time and effort to source spring waters, which are the most pure water sources available to us. This is what sets EAA apart from almost every other skin care brand available.

We use hydrosols distilled from fresh spring water in all of our products.

I look forward to sharing more detailed information about the healing powers of hydrosols in my next blog post, so keep reading, and please share my blog post, and Essential Apothecary Alchemist products, with those you love.

BRIGHT tooth polish

INGREDIENTS: Organic raw coconut oil, clay, organic untreated sea salt, peroxide, natural baking soda, essential oils of cinnamon, peppermint, tea tree, myrrh, and clove.

Teeth are very porous and the tiny microscopic holes in them make them susceptible to bacteria. Contrary to popular belief, sugar does not cause cavities per se, rather, sugar, and foods high in phytic acids, demineralize the body, making teeth more susceptible to bacteria causing cavitation. We have formulated BRIGHT tooth polish with the finest ingredients to support a healthy mouth.

Teeth are living and can therefore heal and repair. Baking soda promotes tooth re-mineralization, acts as a gentle polishing agent, neutralizes odors, and helps create an alkaline environment. The debate over the benefits of fluoride, used in conventional tooth paste, is on-going. Current science overwhelmingly shows fluoridation has little to no benefit in preventing dental caries. We are exposed to many sources of fluoride and it is cumulative. Studies have shown the connection of fluoride toxicity to impaired thyroid function, immune system function, diminished IQ, and many more adverse symptoms.

Clay is a mineral product that is nourishing and highly detoxifying. It is used as a gentle tooth polish. Natural clay is high in silica, magnesium, iron, calcium and potassium.

We use organic, raw, and unrefined coconut oil in our BRIGHT tooth polish. Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral. Coconut oil improves circulation, and prevents periodontal disease and tooth decay. Coconut oil also improves calcium and magnesium absorption and supports the development of stronger bones and teeth.

EAA uses untreated, unheated, solar dried Mediterranean and Hawaiian sea salts. These sea salts are high in minerals and trace elements. Natural sea salt has anti-bacterial properties, is naturally antiseptic, and has been known to reduce pain.

The essential oils used in BRIGHT were selected for their anti-microbial and healing properties. Cinnamon is highly anti-microbial. Research has shown cinnamon oil to be highly effective in addressing streptococcus mutans and lactobacillus platarum. These bacteria are responsible for tooth decay and gum disease. Clove oil is also highly antimicrobial and is the most concentrated antioxidant known. Myrrh essential oil is both anti-septic and soothing to gum tissue. Tea Tree oil is also anti-microbial, immunostimulant, and analgesic. Peppermint oil is anti-bacterial, and analgesic. Peppermint oil can enhance or restore the sense of taste because it stimulates the trigeminal nerve.

USE: Because we use pure and natural ingredients in our BRIGHT tooth polish you may notice a change in its consistency due to temperature fluctuations. Use desired amount on either a wet or dry tooth brush. Brush gently for 2 minutes, morning and before bed, daily, to keep teeth clean and bright.

THE ALCHEMY OF ESSENTIAL OIL PERFUMES... and their healing properties

THE ALCHEMY OF ESSENTIAL OIL PERFUMES

Essential oils are, by their very nature, alchemical. The extraction of the vital essence of plant materials for the purpose of their elixiorative substances, extends deep into ancient history.

These alchemical solutions contain very complex molecules that contain in their very essence, healing properties. It is well known that essential oils have remarkable effects on the body organs, the skin, the mood via the limbic system (a complex system of nerves and networks in the brain, involving several areas near the edge of the cortex concerned with instinct and mood), and all other systems of the body. Essential oils are some of the most concentrated natural plant medicines used; as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, hormone balancing, agents.

Essential oils are very profound substances. They are complex harmonies of hundreds or even thousands of different chemicals. Their highly potent constitution makes them powerfully attuned and they can behave as chemical messengers, capable of unlocking the receptor sites of cells, and, communicating with our cellular intelligence at the level of the DNA. To quote David Stewart PhD, “… even though inanimate, creation does not speak in words, its voice resounds everywhere, to be heard and understood by the spiritually attuned. “

The names of EAA perfumes I borrowed from my Grandfathers native Greek language. Each of the 8 perfume names speaks of qualities both spiritual and physical. I hope you enjoy these transformative perfumes meant to be unisex and to be blended for even more complex aromas.
