Why Is Water Almost Always The First Ingredient?

Have you ever wondered why water is usually the first ingredient in your skin care or body care product?

If water is not the first ingredient, it is almost always in the top 3. When most skin care lines have their products manufactured for them, these products are made in huge batches. When these big batch products are made, they are typically made with inexpensive, man made ingredients. To these base creams, companies add lovely things like plant infusions, nutrients, and essential oils, but this doesn’t change the core of the product. To make a cream, you need 3 main parts:

1. The first part is water

2. The second part is oil

3. And the third part is wax.

The water, the wax, and the oils are heated separately and then blended together. Wax is used as an emulsifier - without it, the water and oil will separate. Most often the oils and waxes that are used are man made petroleum products.

These man made chemicals are known endorcrine disrupters, and they tend to build up in our body tissues. Everything leaves a trace of its existence, and the traces of all beings, all objects, all life, are recorded in the water.

As we discussed in the previous blog, water has a crystalline structure that can hold memory. When water comes from clean sources, when it runs clean and is living, its crystalline structure is beautiful and healthy.  Michael Standther speaks eloquently regarding the power of water, “because water has such great powers of absorption, it is a treasure trove of innumerable secrets. The whole of the history of mankind is recorded in the lakes, rivers, and oceans of the world. Everything leaves a trace of its existence, and the traces of all beings, all objects, all life, are recorded in the water. It is a supremely magical medium, which permeates and impregnates the universe. If you listen to a drop of water it will speak to you.” And the Kogi tribes say that water is a living, thinking being. They see streams as a baby, rivers as adults, and the ocean as the great all powerful One.

If you wonder why water is the most abundant ingredient in your product, the simple answer is... its cheap!

I feel it is safe to say that the water used in most products in not clean, living water. I would bet that most of the water used is from the tap, or distilled tap water. If you wonder why water is the most abundant ingredient in your product, the simple answer is, its cheap! Not many companies would take the time and effort to source spring waters, which are the most pure water sources available to us. This is what sets EAA apart from almost every other skin care brand available.

We use hydrosols distilled from fresh spring water in all of our products.

I look forward to sharing more detailed information about the healing powers of hydrosols in my next blog post, so keep reading, and please share my blog post, and Essential Apothecary Alchemist products, with those you love.
