Biodegradable Bamboo Toothbrush
Throughout Asia, bamboo has always been regarded as sacred- symbolizing grace, strength, flexibility, endurance and longevity. But there's a practical reason why we chose bamboo when designing Natboo. Bamboo is a rapidly (and endlessly) renewable resource, it is able to reach maturity in about four to five years, compared to the typical 25 to 70 years for commercial tree species in the U.S. To put this in perspective, a sixty-foot tree cut for market takes 60 years to replace and a sixty-foot bamboo cut for market takes 59 days to replace.
Bamboo is also naturally anti-bacterial, making it the perfect material for a toothbrush, the number one oral hygiene support tool in America. Bamboo is actually not a tree, but a form of grass that can grow up to four inches in a day, doesn't require pesticides, and uses little water. It re-grows itself with minimal care.
And finally, but certainly not the least importantly, we chose bamboo because it's beautiful. Bamboo products have a smooth sleek texture that is pleasing to touch and symmetrical design pattern that is satisfying to the eye of design-sensitive and symmetry-obsessed people.
